La serie de Las meninas de Picasso compuesta por 46 variaciones a partir de la pintura homónima de Velázquez, más 12 paisajes, fue realizada en la casa-estudio de Picasso La californie durante la segunda mitad de 1957. La serie fue donada por el pintor al ayu ntamiento de Barcelona en 1968 y desde 1970 se expone al publico en el museo Picasso de dicha ciudad.
